SHS is pleased to have the support of some highly distinguished physicians and scientists who, in their combined efforts, will oversee R&D, Clinical Trials, product efficacy and safety.
Dr. Van Dyke is a world-renowned professor and researcher in pharmacology and toxicology attached to the West Virginia University. Dr. Van Dyke completed his doctorate in Endocrinological Biochemistry at St. Louis University under Dr. Philip Katzman, professor in the department of Dr. Edward A Doisy, who received the Nobel Prize for his discovery and synthesis of Vitamin K. Dr. Van Dyke's accomplishments include vital research in arthritis, cancer, silica toxicity and black lung disease, as well as the development of a new treatment for malaria. He is a world leader in cellular chemiluminescence and bioluminescence, who has authored more than 200 publications, abstracts, books and book chapters. His most recent work has centered on the use of antioxidant therapies across a broad range of diseases thought to be related to inflammation and oxidative damage, such as Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr. Sacks is a graduate of Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Sacks holds a doctoral degree in Genetics and Developmental Biology from the University of West Virginia. Dr. Sacks' primary area of research is genetic control of oxidative pathways such as the promoter regions AP-1 and NF- Kappa-B. Among others, Dr. Sacks has published on the effects of such promoter control in numerous scientific journals. As collaborators, Dr. Sacks and Dr. Van Dyke have focused their research on genetic control of the oxidative pathways found to play a role in oxidative diseases. This research has led them to the current stages of development and certain patents issued for the treatment of oxidative diseases and sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Van Thiel graduated from the UCLA Medical School in 1964 and completed post-graduate work at Cornell University, National Cancer Institute and Boston University. Dr. Van Thiel has served as a professor at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine for more than 25 years and in the past has been medical director at the University of Pittsburgh and University of Kentucky. Dr. Van Thiel was also the founder and chief of transplantation medicine and the director of the Oklahoma Liver and Digestive Disease Center. Dr. Van Thiel has served as the chief of gastroenterology and the medical chief of transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh for 20 years. Presently, he is the chief of liver transplantation at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Van Thiel is one of the most published individuals in the field of transplantation and hepatology with more than 1,000 publications.
Dr. Niren graduated medical school in 1978 at the Creighton University in Nebraska and served his medical residency at Harvard University (Cambridge Hospital). Dr. Niren's primary field of expertise is dermatology. He has held numerous teaching positions over the last twenty years and is currently lecturing at Harvard University and the American University of the Caribbean, where he also holds a faculty position as a clinical instructor. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Niren currently sits on more than 10 different corporate advisory boards as a medical consultant.
Dr. Venturi provides professional and informed counsel to the company with regards to its overall scientific direction, opportunities and discoveries. Specifically, he provides input on the safety and effectiveness of medical services and health supplements; provides counsel on the protocols for the devices; reviews treatment results; and acts as spokesperson to the medical and academic communities. Dr. Venturi is a licensed physician and surgeon in both Canada and in the State of Michigan. He is a practicing physician in a large medical practice in Mississauga. In addition to being a medical doctor, Dr. Venturi is an accomplished biophysicist and has developed and patented a new functional food supplement. He has also initiated many commercial and clinical programs, has authored or co-authored 10 publications and has participated in 22 clinical abstracts. Dr. Venturi graduated from the University Of Toronto Faculty Of Medicine in 1984 after having earned his Bachelor of Science degree (Honors Physics - Gold Medal) from the University of Windsor (1974) and his Master of Applied Science (Aerospace Studies) degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (1976).
